Our February Women’s Group meetings will be Tuesday morning, February 28^th from 10:00 until 11:30AM and Thursday evening, March 1^st from 6:30 until 8:00 PM (Note: Evening session moved to Thursday evening because of Lenten service on Wednesday evening).  April Osterstock will lead us in devotions and we will be working on the crocheted and/or quilted lap robes which we are making to share with our homebound church members or anyone who needs to feel the warmth of God’s love.

            As part of the “Care and Share” ministry, women are invited to bring a casserole to share with folks who could use a meal.  Include a list of ingredients and heating/cooking instructions.  These casseroles will be kept in the church freezer until someone is in need.

            Also on the agenda for the February meeting is to start planning for the Mother/Daughter Tea and to finalize plans for attending the Women’s Retreats on March 17^th.  One retreat is in Philadelphia (Cost $34) and the other is at Nativity Lutheran Church in Allentown (Cost $20)—both include lunch.  Talk to April Osterstock, Michelle Batz, Diane Laub, Sharon Billger, Susan Stemko, or Vicky Free if you are interested in attending either retreat.

            Hope to see you!  If you don’t quilt or crochet, come for the fellowship!!  We also need help “tying knots” and any help there will be greatly appreciated!

The next "Do What Matters" meeting is Tuesday, February 28th at 6:30pm at the church. This meeting date is due to Ash Wednesday being the 22nd and then Mid-week Lenten services.

Join us for another Lenten season full of reflection and preparation for the death and resurrection of our Lord, Jesus Christ.  Come out at 6:30pm to enjoy homemade soups, bread and fellowship (sign-ups to bring soup are located in the conference room).  The thespians of the congregation will provide the message of the evening in the form of a brief skit and then we will once again have a family project to conclude the evening.  This year we will make an Oester Stok, or Easter Tree.  No worries if you aren't able to attend all 5 weeks…we'll keep your project on track!  Please contact Michelle Batz, April Osterstock or Vicky Free for details.  We will be asking for donations of rick-rack, glitter pens, ribbons, etc…to decorate custom eggs for the Easter trees.  Stay tuned!

A Ham and Cheese Sandwich Sale to Benefit Mt. Zion Restoration Committee will be held Thurs., March 22^nd . The cost is $3.50 a sandwich and orders are due to Martin Billger (610-682-7038) by Sunday, March 18, 12 o'clock noon. We will start making the sandwiches at 3:30 PM pick-up at 4:30.

2012 WOMEN’S RETREAT OPENS FOR REGISTRATION

We can envision our lives as sacred space in which God’s Spirit dwells and that indwelling transforms us. 

“We have received from God the power and grace necessary for embracing a life that reflects God’s presence in the world.” (Inez Torres Davis)

How we care for ourselves is of utmost importance to living faithfully for and with God for the sake of the world, our communities, and our families.  In this contemplative retreat, we will encounter spiritual practices that will help us focus on the presence and guidance of the Holy Spirit in our lives, explore simple ways to create sacred spaces, and encourage one another to go deeper into our commitment to be a reflection of God’s merciful love and healing grace for the world.

Led by the Rev. Donna M.
